The Electronic Astrophysical Journal Letters

In keeping with the philosophy and steps outlined above, the American Astronomical Society began the process of converting a print journal into electronic form, beginning with a prototype of the Electronic Astrophysical Journal Letters (ApJ Letters) in January of 1995. For this demonstration, which was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, one issue of the ApJ Letters (Volume 435, No. 1, Part 1 - Hubble Space Telescope Special Issue) was converted into electronic form.
