Definitions and Conventions concerning the Units
This page allows to find out the meaning of Unit symbols,
and gives its equivalence in the
SI (Système International) which is the
recommended system of units.
Computations can mix
numbers
(e.g.
6.6x10-8 standing for 6.6×10
–8),
unit symbols, and
basic physical constants starting by a
backslash \ (e.g.
\c=speed of light,
\h=Plank's constant,
\G=gravitational constant, etc).
Parenthesized expressions are allowed.
As an example,
the value of the gravitational field of the Sun at Earth's distance can
be written
\G.solMass/AU+2
(see a
full list of units and constants)
