Sending a SIMBAD batch job

Logging into the SIMBAD server can be time-consuming in case of slow connections. It is possible to send batch-jobs via mail, using the WWW interface.
Most of the simple things (like just looking up data for astronomical objects or searching a sky region) are easily done by answering the prompts.
There is a place for adding commands as well, in case you're familiar both with SIMBAD and the batch-job syntax.
In order to use the batch-jobs service (or to log in) you need to have a user ID. If you don't have one, you need to find out how to get access to SIMBAD.
Two separate forms are available:
Form for Search by Name.
Form for Search by Position.
Thanks to Brian Casey for first designing this WWW interface to the SIMBAD mail facility.
