Data from the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE)

David Leisawitz & John C. Mather

Data products from the Cosmic Background Explorer are now available for analysis, and further data releases are planned. Researchers selected through NASA's Astrophysics Data Program receive support from the COBE Guest Investigator Facility at the Goddard Space Flight Center. The data are distributed from the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC). Nearly all of the data products are available via anonymous ftp and accessible on the World Wide Web; a few datasets that are larger than about 10 MB are available on CD-ROMs. Analysis software, Explanatory Supplements, and pages describing the data products from each of the three COBE instruments - DIRBE, FIRAS, and DMR - can be reached from the COBE Home Page.
