Delay determination

The delay parameters are determined by taking a correlation on a strong source (the strongest available in the sky), and by measuring the variation of phase as SOLVE DELAY /PLOT
is available to measure the delays. The phase should be plotted as a function of IF frequency, over the broadest band available (the correlator should be set up to analyse the 100-600 MHz band by juxtaposition of several 160 MHz subbands). SOLVE DELAY /PLOT, applied to baseline 12, will output the delay to be applied to antenna 1. If the delay is too large, increase the range of search by using the option /SEARCH range (by default the search range is between -100 and +100 nanoseconds).
