A Gaia Data Release 2 catalogue of white dwarfs and a comparison with SDSS.
oThe acronym WD is devoted to the compilation of spectrosocopically confirmed White Dwarfs of McCook & Sion, with a format built on 1950 coordinates; it is not a generic acronym. The names WD J... given by the authors in the table gaia2wd have thus not been added in SIMBAD, because the acronym WD is not free, and because it could be misleading as 39% of the objects have a probability to be a White Dwarf lower than 50%. Please use the Gaia DR2 identifier instead.

A catalogue of white dwarfs in Gaia EDR3.
oTables maincat and rpm_ext : sources with a probability to be a White Dwarf Pwd ≥ 0.5 have been ingested in SIMBAD (N = 408181 + 42968); sources with Pwd < 0.5 will not be ingested. Table sdssspec : sources with specClass ~ CV, D, PG1159, QSO have been ingested in SIMBAD; sources with specClass = STAR or UNK or Unreliable will not be ingested. Table A1: Gaia EDR3 3845263368043086080 does not exist and is a misprint for Gaia EDR3 3845263368043470080. Nomenclature : the acronym WD is devoted to the compilation of spectrosocopically confirmed White Dwarfs of McCook & Sion, with a format built on 1950 coordinates; it is not a generic acronym.; the names WD J... given by the authors in the table maincat and rpm_ext have thus not been added in SIMBAD, because the acronym WD is not free, and because it could be misleading as 68% of the objects have a probability to be a White Dwarf lower than 50%. Please use the Gaia DR3 identifier instead.
